Arrival and car parking facilities
Some of our apartments have their own private parking spaces and
others are allocated a disc which gives free 24 hour on-street parking in
the resident parking disc zone.
Most of the apartments are accessible from the front of the properties and
this necessitates climbing 4 or 5 steps to access the front door of each
house.
However we do also have some one bedroom garden apartments which are
accessible from the rear of the property through the kitchen rather than
using the main entrance and only require the negotiation of one step. The
private parking spaces are also at the rear of the property so you won't
have far to carry luggage and of course we can help with this if required.
Some of these apartments do also have very small steps (maybe 2 inches in
height) internally between rooms.
Our reception and office is at 15 St Mary's Avenue. This is about halfway up
the street on the left hand side as you drive up - there is a big sign
outside the building. The office is up on the first floor of the property.
Please don't feel you have to come up to find us. Many customers will call
us from their vehicles to advise that they have arrived and we can then come
out and meet you, sort your parking permit or parking space out and then
show you into your apartment.

Facilities within each apartment
We do realise that the basic architectural structure of these 19th
century buildings may pose access problems for some guests who may not be
able to negotiate the stairs. For this reason we have put some external
pictures on our website to give you a good idea of accessibility.
The garden apartments with the parking spaces at the rear offer the most
accessible accommodation if stairs are a problem. Please do talk to us so we
can discuss which apartment type would best suit your needs. The doors of
the apartments are of standard width and wouldn't therefore allow access
while in a wheelchair.
Once in the apartment the layout is comfortable to move around in, but
again, bearing in mind the width of the doorframes you wouldn’t be able to
manoeuvre a wheelchair.
Guest information ranges from local restaurant information to fire safety
guides and emergency numbers, as well as various tourist board publications
telling you what is happening in Harrogate and North Yorkshire.
The apartments are well equipped. The beds are of excellent quality, with
some standard mattresses and some of the memory foam type. The bedding in
each flat is a different combination of sheets/blankets/duvets and
bedspreads. Spares of all will be available should you prefer an alternative
or extras.
The bathrooms all have non slip flooring specifically designed for
bathrooms. It wouldn't be possible to use them with a walking aid
The lounge areas all have radiators and a fire. There is also a large LCD
remote control television, DVD player and a wired broadband outlet for those
of you who travel with your laptop computers.
We welcome pets of a manageable size. There are gardens and open spaces very
near to us so you will have somewhere to walk them. We also welcome
children, for whom we provide cots with bedding and high chairs.
