Harrogate has many attractions from art galleries, the spa baths, gardens, quality shops, restaurants and cafe bars in town, to medieval market towns, golf courses, breweries and the picturesque Yorkshire Dales all in the immediate vicinity.

 

Just a short walk from Ashness Apartments, a delightful area of shops cafes and bars and restaurants      English Heritage Grade II Listed gardens situated in regal Low Harrogate, which along with woodland known as The Pinewoods, covers 17 acres. The Gardens contain a greater number of mineral springs than any other known place. For music lovers, band concerts take place on Sunday afternoons throughout the summer. Beautiful historical buildings such as the Sun Pavilion and Colonnades sit alongside a wide variety of outdoor games, children's play area and the Magnesia Well Café

There are many local events throughout the year, including the Spring Flower Show in April, the Great Yorkshire Show in July and the International Festival which is a celebration of music, dance and theatre taking place over a few weeks every summer.

An amazing collection of weird and wonderful rock formations which makes a great day out for families, climbers and those wanting to enjoy the simple pleasures of fresh air and magnificent views over Nidderdale. Let your imagination run wild as you explore the labyrinth of paths through this unique landscape   Yorkshire’s first World Heritage Site is a huge estate of beauty, contrasts and surprises including the largest abbey ruins in the country and one of England’s most spectacular Georgian water gardens.

Nearby Ripon and York are both famous for their race days and the cosmopolitan city of Leeds is only 30 minutes away by car or rail. There are also many famous natural attractions in the area making Harrogate the perfect base from which to walk and explore in North Yorkshire.

Harewood sits at the heart of Yorkshire, easily accessible by road, rail and air. The House, one of the treasure houses of England, was built in the mid-18th century and has magnificent interiors by Robert Adam, furniture by Thomas Chippendale and paintings by JMW Turner, Reynolds, Titian and El Greco, among others. An Italianate Terrace, designed by Sir Charles Barry, stretches along the South Front of the House and provides stunning views of Lancelot 'Capability' Brown's landscape and lake. The collection of paintings, furniture and porcelain is as fine as any in the land, and the setting is Yorkshire’s most beautiful landscape.  


Harewood House is just 15 minutes away and offers a wide range of open-air events: from concerts to kite festivals, from car rallies to craft fairs, walks in the English countryside, a family day out, a cultural experience or a romantic afternoon.
